This should be interesting...

Thats right, a 1521 1y with 24/36 gearing on 6s lipo in an erevo. I am sick of hearing how great the vtwin emaxx are so I am doing it my own way. That gearing should give me at leasy 60mph. I will be using hybrid diffs. I have room to run a larger pinion, but not much. Looks like I could fit a 26-27t in there.

Crazy Pimp.

WAY TO GO PIMP:yipi:. It is getting to be fun watching your projects now. Between you and Shaun we can tell that just doing the normal stuff is much toooooo boring for you now:rofl:. I am planning to get one of those 1521's myself for one of my Maxx projects. Like you I love to push the envelope way beyond the normal limits of expectation. Just how much power can we shove through the drivetrain before disaster stikes:whistle:. That is the question???

Plus learning to keep such power under control is the key. Never say never.

TexasSP 10.20.2008 09:13 PM

Wouser's, this should be fun!

I never got the appeal of the v-twin, too many components for not enough results. At least if it had been done with the MM it would have been half interesting.

BL_RV0 10.20.2008 09:29 PM

:yipi: This is going to be awesome!!!!

sikeston34m 10.20.2008 09:32 PM

THAT is awesome! How long is that motor?

Even the 60mm Medusa geared for 60mph on 6S is a WILD ride. I can only imagine what your setup is gonna do.

Just remember, big amp draw and keep an eye on your temps. That's one seriously hungry setup.

You might wanna wear a face shield to protect yourself from the rubber flying off the rims! LOL

lincpimp 10.20.2008 10:26 PM

I was going to use this motor in my lst and put the hacker c50 11xl out of the lst into the revo. But then I thought that the revo would be lighter...

Any ideas if the polyquest 6000 3s 25c packs will fit in the erevo battery trays? I remember a great pic with some measurements in it, Neil might have posted it, but I cannot find it right now...

I can not take credit for this pic, only for being smart enough to save it to my computer:whistle: This is the pic from Neil you where looking for. I just got my NeuEnergy 4900Mah 3s packs and they JUST fit in, take out the sping from the top and the adjustable stop, nothing in the tray except the foam at the front and the battery.

I can't imagine how crazy that setup is going to be Pimp!:surprised: I just ran mine on 6s and its crazy! MMM/1515 2.5d Tekno Neu/6s NeuEnergy I have it geared 62/22 just over 40MPH, and it's crazy, 20-25MPH wheelies are nothing. I lost a 17mm nut holding my MaximizerBL/Badlands on so I came back in and put the talons back on. It hooks way better on pavement with the talons.

TruckBasher 10.20.2008 10:55 PM

This is very interesting.....

btw what do you plan to do with the rear shock mount, does it have enough space?

mkrusedc 10.20.2008 11:07 PM

Sweet can't wait to see the vid. I have never seen the appeal of the V-Twin either. You rock linc!

Thanks for the pic. Does not look like the 6000 packs will fit. Hopefully my 4500 30c 3s packs are up to the task.

Looks like it will fit. I cannot run the motor in the high cg mounting as there is not enough clearance for the pinion. I may have to clearance the mount to fit the pinion if the rear shock mount will not fit...

gixxer 10.20.2008 11:31 PM

Great motor. I had that in my 8t on 5s and loved it. Could pretty much gear it how ever I wanted.

The lotus body behind it is for my TC4.

Lookin forward to watchin this linc!

Have you considered using a bigger spur to get the clearence over the shock mount you need?
...Of course, that would mean bigger pinion, etc....

*EDIT*
Maybe run a couple of these with lutechs 10s;
http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...Ah_21-35C_4S1P

Similar speed, and you may not need to mess with the shock mount if you get enought clearance with the larger spur.

Don't worry. I wouldn't do that to you guys!!! It may take a few weeks, as I have a few more projects that I am working on...

BlackedOutREVO 10.21.2008 06:14 PM

DANG!

Thats going to have some power! This will really shut the V twin people! Hahahahahaha

suicideneil 10.21.2008 08:16 PM

Pfft, V-twin was a fad, which is thankfully dying out now (kinda wish I hadnt helped the noobs with it to begin with).

Will sure be fun watching that road missile when it gets that power to the ground...

If the driveshafts will allow such a thing to happen...

suicideneil 10.22.2008 01:37 PM

I was more concerned about the stock Erevo diffs, they'll explode before they can even complete one rotation...

He's using hybrid diffs .

I think they will be fine. I will not bash it as hard as I usually do. Or I may upgrade to the summit driveshafts...

It will have hybrid diffs in it, your reading comprehension sucks Neil:lol:

bustitup 10.22.2008 02:41 PM

let the bashing begin

LOL...I wish you lived closer Linc........so I could watch you trying to keep up with my converted Revo with V-twin Vxl's......my main concern would be to try to steer clear of all the broken parts flying off your truck....bwhahahahahah

if by some fat chance you can catch me...I will just pull out my vxl esc's and put in two mm's and run 2 x 4s batts

whoooo hooooooo .......praise the V-Twin Revo unstopable and unbeatable..cheaper faster, more dependable:tongue:

Neil...sorry dude twin vxl's are not a fad...there a religion...bwhahahahahahah

suicideneil 10.22.2008 04:25 PM

That makes me, BombProof and HighAmplitude your Gods.

Wow, this is an interesting post. I had to check and make sure that I was on Rcm and not the traxxas forum...

First off, you claim that you will be dodging parts coming off my truck... Are you questioning my assembly skills, or claiming that revos break easily? You also have a revo so that would be a stupid thing to say.

Judging by your build thread you are running maxamps packs. Need I say more...

Also, a 1521 will produce more power and torque than the 2 S can feigao motors you are running (that is what those velineon motors are so don't bother arguing with me). That will allow me to gear higher than you. Plus I will not be running fans on my motor to keep them going...

A 1521 should be able to easily output 2000watts. I highly doubt that a s can feigao can put out 1000 watts, 600-700 would be more likely. Also your batteries are not likely to put out 1000 watts each...

You are running the old emaxx tranny in your truck, not as strong as the new erevo/emaxx tranny. I know that the old tranny would not be able to handle the torque output of the 1521.

I doubt your v twin esc/motor/fan/lipo setup was cheaper than my MMM/1521/polyquest setup. I have a feeling they were about the same.

I will also be running 1/8 scale diffs in Mike's hybrid cases, going to be alot stronger than your stockers...

Honestly your thread is quite poor, and just sounds like someone who does not really understand brushless or have much experience with various setups. I have owned most of what is available and will stick to a neu/mmm.

I will be more than happy to do some speeds runs and a 20 min bash session with you. Just unplug those fans on the motors and we will see who fails first...

TexasSP 10.22.2008 04:43 PM

Correction, his name was hiamplidude!

suicideneil 10.22.2008 04:47 PM

I feel a drag race comming on...

V2 hybrids will take care of the diff issues, and maybe some of those nice new summit cvd driveshafts will prevent any issues there too, meaning that Linc's road missile will east the puny V-twin (topspeed: 61mph) for breakfast. Didnt JZEMaxx have that 1/8 MT doing 80mph + with the same motor as you are using Linc?...

EDIT: Hiamplidude, correct (thats just sounds odd, but still cool, lol).

hahahahah....all true...I just wanted to ruffle some feathers....I didnt think my attempt at british humor (without being british) would be taken so seriously.......but I will say this in my defense

no one here has seen a revo V-Twin on two mm's and four 2s (flightpower) not maxamps....your looking at an old build thread Linc

I think it would be an interesting drag race for sure....I may not know much but I have fun and I sometimes make the right choices

"cutting up" is my nature and it sometimes gets misconstrude as being serious.....

I had a feeling that you were not being completely serious...

Hmmm, I have 4 trakpower lipos myself... and a spare pair of MMMs... I will just pick up another 1515 1.5d. And slap all of that in my Mlst... I can see that truck eating your v-twin for lunch.

My MLST is better then yours . You want to know why . It has my own little 4 pole 6000Kv motor in it . My own little line of micro motors should be out soon and the Kv available will be 6000, 7500 and 9000. The 9000 will be the :diablo: on a track :yipi:.
