Need support from Repair department

How long after you receive the package will you send notification that you have it and start processing it?

My package was confirmed delivered Nov 4 1:30PM CST but I haven't receive anything...

I just hope at least I can get confirmation that it is with repair department.

Sent an email to support about this but hope to get CC's response and maybe others base on their experience

hemiblas 11.11.2008 09:15 PM

They will probably email you with a response to your email within a day or two. Same thing happened to me. Mine was on its way back a couple weeks later.

Semi Pro 11.12.2008 01:06 AM

it took about 3 weeks before mine was receved and then anothe 3 days before it got notice that it was being sent back

hope that helps

TruckBasher 11.12.2008 01:24 AM

@hemiblas, no doubt on that respond to email support just concerned that the item for repair was received (as confirmed by tracking) and after a week still no email that they received it.

@Semi Pro, was the 3 weeks just the transit time from your post office to CC? If I understood you correctly CC send you email of acknowledgment after 3 weeks from the time you send it to them and another 3 days to process it and send you back.

Thanks for the reply guys

MetalMan 11.12.2008 02:13 AM

CC never notified me that they received my package (2x MMM V2, MM). However, they did notify me that they shipped out a package to me a week after they received mine. This notification included a tracking number.

TruckBasher 11.12.2008 02:40 AM

Well I guess thats explains everything...thanks...

bradleyk123 11.12.2008 04:47 AM

got my monday. I sent my 3 weeks back they have just started the 2nd run of the new v3. so it should'nt be long. they will only notifiy you when they ship it back.

George16 11.12.2008 06:03 AM

Jeff, CC never notified me on the 2nd V3. They receive mine on October 27 and when i called them on Nov 5th, they told me that they received it. I got confirmation that they have sent it on Nov 7th.

By the way, they notified me via email and one of those cards on the first one though :whistle::whistle:.

TruckBasher 11.12.2008 07:39 AM

Yeah I think that is how it works I just dont know. THis is the first time I am returning an item to them so I have no idea...My MMs didnt really give up on me and got sold before they even needed repair. Well I guess I'll just wait and hopefully it arrives just in time (before my E-Slayer gets completed)

apollo 11.12.2008 09:22 AM

????????

Sent mine USPS priority w/delivery confirmation on 10/14/08. I have not heard anything from CC. I'm just waiting for return shipping notification. I hope Soon.

Just give them a call.

joeling 11.12.2008 11:38 AM

Hi TruckBasher,

Looks like your items are ahead of me in the queue. Finally got off my lazy b & sent my fried MMMs in a couple of days ago. Let me know how it works out for u. I'm in the same boat

Regards,
Joe Ling

TruckBasher 11.12.2008 08:22 PM

Joe, well Morgan just sent me an email saying it got shipped out today (US time). Though there was no tracking email from CC. Give your package 2-3weeks if no feedback try to send them a message or of urgent maybe a call.

Well, hopefully it has been shipped, not that I dont trust Morgan just that everybody say there is always an email from them.

George16 11.12.2008 11:42 PM

I just received 2nd one today. It was shipped Nov 7.

TruckBasher 11.13.2008 10:33 PM

Nice Lito now your 2 trucks can run again. Hope its not raining there I saw the weather is not so good in Asiapac region....I still havent received any tracking info from CC just an email responds from Morgan with a single line saying "replacement shipped today". I tried asking him for a document/package number so I can at least check it via our post office but no word yet. Hopefully I'll get it soon too...

George16 11.13.2008 11:50 PM

Yup, weather sucks. It was raining this morning during our 3-mile run. It was cold too.

Anyway, tracking is not available for USPS International.

Nice to hear that things are moving. Say, did CC charge u anything for the repairs ?

My contact at CC is a lady named Christy. Already pestering her with every minute detail of the shipment & what needs to be fixed & requested for faster shipment method back to me at extra cost to me...

Regards,
Joe Ling

TruckBasher 11.14.2008 01:57 AM

@Lito yeah its not traceable from USPS but it will get scanned in Singapore Post and its gonna be available on their website. I would know as soon as it arrives in SG.

@Joe, well no one directly contacted me for shipping or repair details yet so I wouldnt know if they will charge me or not. I wouldnt mind being charge extra for shipping but I think the dont do EMS for return shipment but I could be wrong.

123revo 11.17.2008 08:25 AM

gday mate, i am an international customer in west australia. mine took just under 2 weeks (9days) to get back to me which was pretty good. the shipping is priority international but is only able to be tracked within US. i had a number for mine but Morgan did say it was traceable via the sender but not in real time. i was hoping like hell i could track it, but when i got home today from work, there was a nice parcel from castle waiting for me near my door. 9 days is prety damn good and 13 days overall is excellent. and the wait..... def worth it. hang in there mate you will be driving your car on the roof in no time. :P

TruckBasher 11.17.2008 12:06 PM

Agreed that priority mail really takes 5-10days as most of my US order just that I wasnt given any info about that USPS reference number. I guess I'll find out in 2 weeks if no package then back to square 1 and ask them again. I tried asking morgan again but he hasnt responded back 5 days ago....

joeling 11.19.2008 10:04 PM

Rather than starting a new thread I'd thought I will just add on to this thread...

Got an email from Morgan @ CC with an invoice & stating that my monsters will ship next week. Even though I have abused & did unauthorised things to the dead MMMs, CC will charge me nothing & give me new units ! This is a first in my experience.

I did ask Morgan to bill me for faster shipping though as I fear with normal air freight the items will never arrive like my audio tubes bought @ USD20 a pop all together 8 pcs of them :bad:

Regards,
Joe Ling

TruckBasher 11.20.2008 12:27 AM

Great Joe, I should have done the same then I might have an invoice. Now, I can just cross my fingers and wait for those 2 MMM

UH OH! Time to fire somebody.

TruckBasher 11.20.2008 02:26 AM

Hmmmm Morgan is in trouble

Hey Patrick, I know its too much but just trying my luck, is it possible to trace the USPS document number for my package. It came in to CC with this tracking number RR684337025SG from SG? Thanks...if not..oh well...just keep crossing my fingers...

George16 11.20.2008 02:32 AM

Jeff, here's the result of tracking your document:

Quote:

Label/Receipt Number: RR68 4337 025S G
Status: Delivered

Your item was delivered at 1:30 PM on November 4, 2008 in OLATHE, KS 66061.

TruckBasher 11.20.2008 06:15 AM

Yup Lito it already reached CC that is the tracking number of my package to CC. Morgan said they already send the replacement about a week ago but I never received a notification that it got shipped just a simple reply from Morgan "It got shipped" no USPS document number or email from CC what address they shipped it. I am now getting a bit concern since everyone is getting a notification from CC and I havent. I just wish someone from them will reply to me. Morgan hasnt returned my emails.

TruckBasher 11.21.2008 04:54 AM

GREAT NEWS, when I got home today a package was waiting for me....Its from CC... 8days after Morgan said it was shipped. Thats extremely fast shipment.

Thanks you CC

dirt101 11.21.2008 10:22 PM

you guys may not believe this but when I sent my MMM v2 in it was scheduled to arrive at castle on thursday. IDK when it got there but it couldnt have been any sooner than wednesday, but anyways I had a MMM v3 in hand by monday. A 4/5 day turnaround time. WOW! must have taken atleast 2 to 3 days to ship too, so I cant even begin to think how fast they got to mine.

Nevertheless, Im very thankful.

joeling 11.23.2008 08:22 PM

Oh I see good on u TruckBasher :yipi:.

joeling 12.04.2008 02:33 AM

Ok just an update - I've received the brand new MMMs back. Really really happy but the only catch is that there is a rattle in one of them. Sounds like a broken piece of the case that's running loose inside. What should I do ? CC has already issued warnings about opening the case without authorisation. I am a little concerned.

Joe Ling

Thomas Porfert 12.04.2008 05:00 PM

joeling,

It may be one of the bottom case mounting tabs has broken off. Check the 8 mounting tabs on the bottom edge of the controller. You can check 4 of them on the sides without any problems. You will have to slightly peel back the edge of the labels on the battery and motor sides to check those. If you notice a tab missing, then there is your culprit. If you don't notice a missing tab, then it may be a bit more serious. If it's only a piece of plastic then there should be no worries. But of course if it's metallic then we could have some problems.

If you don't notice the missing tab then opening the case is the only option. The reason we have been telling people not to open their cases is because of the method some people use. If you carefully press the tabs in on 2 or 3 sides of the case, the case will simply pop apart (You'll have to peel the two small sides of the label down). The problem we are seeing is when people take a screwdriver and pop just one side apart. Then proceed to shove the screwdriver into the tab opening and try to wedge the case open. Of course the head of screwdriver grinding against the circuit board has very unpleasant results. As long as your a diligent and careful in opening the case, you should not cause any harm to the controller.

Find the little bugger that's rattling around and check what it is. If it's plastic, no worries. If it looks like a circuit board component, there is certainly room to be worried. If it is the latter, give us a call in Tech Support and we'll get you a new V3 sent our right away. If you do find one of the case tabs, let us know as well and we'll get you hooked up with a new case sent sent out.

Hope this helps some but if you have any questions please give us a ring in Tech Support and we'll get things sorted out.

Castle Tech Support

This would be incorrect.......do not insert anything into any of the tabs on the sides of the controller. Pop the tabs loose on the motor wire side, and the power wire side only. The tabs on the sides are off limits when it comes to pushing them in. As long as you do it from the ends you should be fine.

Thomas Porfert 12.04.2008 07:10 PM

Oops, see what happens when Tech Support crawls in their den and they don't let us see light for long periods? Mike is in our engineering department and gets hands on experience with the monsters everyday. He showed me the correct technique and it is very simple. Just two tabs on the motor or battery side and the case simply pulls apart. Sorry for any confusion and thanks for clearing that up Mike!

castlemike 12.04.2008 07:42 PM

I would have just had Thomas edit his post but you can't ever catch the guy when he is not on the phone helping customers......dang tech support guys always talking.

TruckBasher 12.04.2008 08:08 PM

Thanks for this information. Me and joeling are on the opposite part of the globe and getting in touch with CC in any form is very helpful.

On a side note, i tested my 2 V3 that I received as a replacement for my V2 however one of them wont arm/sync with the controller:
- holding wide open throttle, will hear tones followed by 3 tones (like setting the full forward throttle) but then it will stop if you go with full reverse and just blink amber
- Similar symptom as the V2s I've sent to CC
- Re-flash to 1.20 see if it helps but nothing same result
- Swap the 2nd V3 and everything work fine. Nothing was changed except the V3

Does this mean I got a bad V3? I am about to send it back to CC with the Invoice and original receipt.

Any suggestion to make it work will be appreciated. The video of the 2nd V3 working flawlessly can be found on the 2nd link on my signature.

Joe Ling let us know what is rattling on that V3...hope everything works

joeling 12.05.2008 01:10 AM

Gentlemen,

Thank u very much for your advice. I will try to work on it within the next 2 weeks. Will be outstation for the next 2 weeks. Oh ya, I have opened the cases of MMM plenty of times on the V1s & V2s but not in the correct way. Good info guys. Last thing is to have to send the brand new V3 back half way across the globe again. Again, appreciate the quick response.

Regards,
Joe Ling

joeling 12.07.2008 06:45 AM

Gents,

Thanks for your help. Managed to sneak in an inspection b4 I left. As suspected, 2 of the plastics tabs were found broken.

Regards,
Joe Ling
