I have to mention a concern I have with your setup though.
Your ESC bullet connectors look too close to the aluminum chassis brace for safety. If the esc comes lose and moves it could short out the bullets to the brace and poof :gasp:

I'd suggest rotating your esc 90 degrees to help eliminiate that possibility.

I ran the truck today,actually my 9 year old drove it mostly...it ran for about 25 minutes in my yard...temps were very low with 17/54 gearing and a NEU 4s 5000...was not that impressed with the top speed!:gasp:

I just installed new 46 tooth spur gear and charged two new ZIPPY-r 4800 18.5v batts for tomorrow!
Also running BADLANDS on truggy wheels:whistle:
ANY SUGGESTIONS?

what about running it on 5s?

what kv 1515 is that?

not sure the kv?...the box for the motor says...1515/1y/f

i dunno if you ran it yet or not but you might want to drop atleast couple teeth on your pinion when you bump up to 5s especially since you went to a small spur....or youll be geard to the moon.

i tried to run today!...i am using my new Hyperion charger for the first time and did not charge the batts properly...i balanced but did not charge after...my bantam charger abances and charges at the same time...the 0610i balances then you have to charge after!!

also cant run 5s until i remove the TRAXASSS bat comectors from the MMM esc!...i will just run the 4s with the 17/46 and keep a close eye on temps!

i will let you guys know how it goes!!

i did something wrong...got out to run and lvc kicked in instantly!
the 4s bat only had 12.4 volts...it must not have charged!
user error i think...got it to charge just now up to 5000mah and 16.8 volts:yes:...also charged up the dual Plett Emaxx!

any updates?....i just converted my rc8t initially running 16/50 but wasn't happy with the speed so i changed it to 18/50 and am much happier but i haven't had any track time to thorughly test this gearing...how is the 46t working out for you and what pinion are you using?

:whistle:i ran it the other day with great success(not at a track)...i am not a racer just back yard basher...with the 17/46 gearing it hauled MAJOR ass...even pulled wheelies on command...i love this truck...very light and handles like a dream...motor temps were in the 160 range,batt was cool and MMM was around 100...this MMM v1(purchased new 10/08) has the new case and a NOVAK fan...is it normal for the fan to stay on all the time?

i need to remove the TRAXXASS batt plugs from the MMM so can run my 5s ZIPPYr's in this bad boy....i will get some video of that when the weather clears up!!...should be AMAZING on 18.5v

V1 MMM's fan runs 100% of the time.

i have new Deans on everyhting and will run the truck tomorrow on 5s...18.5 volts on the 1515 1y should rock!!...i have three batts charged and ready to go...I hope the drive train will hold up to my 5 and 9 year old boys!

will have video tomorrow of the the boys...i will be filming this time...i will also have Dual Plett Supermaxx...R/C day!!!...it better not freekin rain!!
