Neu 44xx
I spent 30 minutes searching for that thread but couldn't find it or who posted it.
Anyways, someone brought up Neu's 44xx series. They updated their homepage with a pic of various Neu motors, and sure enough, the 44xx is in there. http://www.neumotors.com/Site/Welcom...%20picture.jpg Thats a big ole motor! |
Lol, didn't know they were in the hybrid 1:1 car market.
The mounting holes look too small. I would think something like that needs 1/2" bolts at the least. |
Yeah- those look like M6 thread...
|
Good lord. what esc would you use to power that?
|
Schulze 40.300 perhaps?
|
Castle does have that 90v/200A controller in their special projects page...
|
BG, I'm with you! I was expecting larger mounting bolt holes... I'm sure that thing has some weight!!! I believe it would move a 1:1 car nicely.
Look at the bolts holding the endbell on... |
SO SMALL! I think this would power a e-quad or similar well, but not a car.
|
E-quad... Hmm. My wheels are spinning now!

Haha, that has been spiraling... :surprised: Thats me everytime I check the bank and the reconcile my Paypal account. |
omg, that thing got 15000 watt! Amazing size!
|
Nowhere near a 1:1 car, you need a 9" dia 2-3' long motor to power a car to highway speeds. Maybe a motorcycle or dirtbike.... Or a full scale small airplane.
|
I dont know man, Think 4 speed 88' Tercel... (I had one a year ago).
Without the Engine is probably less than 600lbs... With me in it!! J/K |
are there any reps from neumotors who would want to chime in? (are there any on the forum?) We all have our ideas, but I want to know what Neumotors intended these behemoths for.

That motor looks like it could power an all terrain vehicle for sure with some decent zip. Like a small quad. |

it would take longer than my tempo does to get to 70ish... |

15000 watts / 746 watts per HP = 20 HP
A little small for a full size car. |
I have personally done part of the building process of a motor that goes in a 1:1 car. The armature was ~11" in diameter and it was 18-24" long. My job was to wrap the armature with a fiberglass type of tape that helped hold the coils in while spinning, trim the coils to the proper length and weld/braise the coils together and to the comutator.
Now putting all that aside, remember that size was for a brushed motor, we all know that brushless motors are way more powerful than their brushed counterparts so who knows what that 44xx might power. |
The motors in the Prius range from 40 to 67 HP, and rated at 30 to 50 kW. So the 44xx is close, but not quite enough for a 1:1

Stt two up barbie jeep style:lol:
|
:gasp::gasp::gasp::gasp:
I had to wipe up the drool of my computer after seeing that pic with all those Neu's. How about one of those 44xx in a Go-kart? |
I was thinking something along the lines of a 1/3 scale RC. Like a full sized Baja 1000 truck but just scaled down to about 35% of full size. Would be awesome. Baja trucks are generally over-powered and a 44xx would definitely fit the bill on that one.

We need someone in the same town as ben and mike to make a electric rc barbie jeep, then fight them to the death. They can be called BBJ's (battle barbie jeeps).

i wonder what the specs on the 44xx is , kv etc |
I don't think the specs matter... I can only sell one first born child...
|
The little man on my one shoulder says "wtf? you seriously can't sell your first-born for that motor"
the little man on the other shoulder says "go for it! you can make another kid!" Oh, and I shot an email to neutronics. I want to see all the specs they have for this thing! Quote:

Sorry to make a zombie but
Was there ever a response? It still seems like they aren't showing these big things off yet. |
My Mini 850 was dynod at 24hp, it sure wasn't a drag racer but its not the slowest car I've had either, it kept up with day to day traffic just fine on acceleration and topped out in the low 90s according to the uncalibrated stock speedo. I wouldn't mind betting that 15KW with electrics flat torque curve and no gears would give better performance at least into the 80s. the BMC "A" engine has an iron block too, so you shouldn't be any heavier converted depending on the range you needed.
|
Any comments on the specs of the 44xx?
|
How will it take till these are up for sale? I want one...
|
Bump...
