First Run 8XL 14 Cell

http://www.rustyonline.net/4.wmv

56k Beware!

This is unedited and the setup isn't perfect yet, but as far as first test runs go, I am very happy!

Thanks to Mike and all of the forum members for the help!

I burned a 9920 and 12020 with the original 8xl. It never ran like this!

It has taken a long time but I am happy now!:027:

Looking good. Nice servo you have there to. :)

What CVDs are you running, and arms? Seems to be high up!

IB 3800 7 cell SxS From Mike.
Don't know about run time yet. That vid is the only run so far.

Looks like you need to get a new slipper, like a Robinson maybe

Yep. I have a Strobe. Hopefully I'll have time to install today.

Hi Biga!

Looking good! nice and smooth. (except for the braking part perhaps.. :p )

Just out of curiosity;

why do you use 8 firm springs? really no need for it, you can do with 4 of them, and the coil-overs. so what's the use of having 8 of them? have you got the coil-overs?

Batfish 04.26.2006 04:52 PM

Nice truck! :003:

Sylvester 04.26.2006 04:57 PM

Nice truck! Ill race yah!

neweuser 04.26.2006 05:03 PM

Not to hijack here, but does robinson carry a mod1 51 by any chance, and is the robinson strong enough to hold the torq?

coolhandcountry 04.26.2006 06:18 PM

Robinson does make a mod a pitch gears. It fits a mgt but will fit a maxx as well. They are metal though. I have not noticed a plast one out. The strobe is a better set up IMO.

That is a nice truck. Looks to run nice. I see you try to be smooth with the trigger. Hard to drive with front tires off ground.

Rtsbasic 04.26.2006 08:23 PM

Nice truck, whats your shock setup on it? Hoping i'll get similar stability with mine. I have the Integy shocks with 4 firm UE springs and 4 soft UE, with heavy oil.

You need to get that Strobe on there! Its a nice price of kit. I liked the Robinson Racing slipper as well, I used one till I got a Strobe.

bigabike 04.26.2006 08:40 PM

Thanks guys.

I am running 8 powerstrokes w/ 70 wt front and stock oil in the rear. I am using the extra Firm Spring Kit on all 8.

I am planning on bashing, so weight is not a concern. I thought I would try with 8 and run some sag in the rear (negative travel). We'll see over time as I get brave and start jumping. @ $29/pair I thought it would be a worthwhile experiment. So far so good. You also must admit it looks sweet!! :027:

I hope this answers the questions.

Thanks again!

Everythings great, im just happy youve got a "non-smokified" system:)

bigabike 04.27.2006 01:23 AM

3rd Controller & 2nd motor seem to be the ticket!

RC-Monster Mike 04.28.2006 12:15 PM

Lookin' good, Rusty. Install the Strobe and dial some brakes(on the radio) out to prevent the front flips and you have yourself a winner!

Thanks Mike!

I installed the JR Rx & Tx last night. I will dial that in ASAP.

I am working on a wannabe sprong. Hopefully it turns out well.

Later.

Looks great, alot like my first run and I still don't have the brakes dialed in lol. I also have a 8xl and 14 cells. Do you have a wheelie bar? The one I have got bent and broke in just a little while, I had to rebuild it shorter and stronger but now it will stay on the wheelie bar and I don't have to lift the throttle as much which makes for long wheelies. I like the dodge body too, It seems like every truck out there has a ford body. Oh yea, When you get the strobe slipper on there it will wheelie at almost half throttle! Good luck on going fast :027:
