Antenae length??

I purchased a Losi DSM out of a Mini Slider to put in my Brushless Maxx to hopefully fix the range/glitching problem. When I recieved it today I noticed the antenae is only about 3" long from case to end. If I put this in my reciever box(3905Maxx) it'll stick out maybe an inch. Can I just add to it so I can get to the antenae tube and just make it long enough to stay under the body or won't it matter? I'll test it tomorrow to see but I don't like surprises

I had one on my mlst2 that I just let lay flat on the body - worked like a charm. no need for a tube.

I think antennae length are tuned for a particular frequency or something, so I wouldnt mess around changing it. 2.4Ghz all seem to use much shorter antennae as well

just leave it as is.

My only concern is that it barely gets out of the Rx case an inch

Sammus 03.12.2008 09:33 AM

I dont think thats a concern... let it hang out, or curl it up inside, shouldn't matter, unless your rx case is lined with lead :P

No, no lead but that Kriptonite might be an issue.

The 2.4 gz are made to have a super short antena. Just leave it like it is. If you want just put a 1" tube on it.

So far alls good but I had to tuck the whole thing under the Rx cover. I'll test more today and tomorrow to be sure. I need to make sure the radio and ESC are linked up correct

I run my futaba 2.4ghz antennas usually right along the chassis. Best reception out of anything I have ever owned so I don't think you will have a problem.
