which Neu 1515 has the most torque/power?

hi guys,
as the title says, im wondering which Neu 1515 has the most torque/power? the Neu 1515/1y seems like the most sensible one, but it has a fairly high kv rating, so i'm wondering if the 1515/2.5D is a little more powerful...
anyway what do you guys think?

tc3_racer_001 08.15.2008 07:42 AM

on what voltage in what truck? need more information. without voltage and application this is a useless thread...

yeah lol i planned to get a Neu 1521 motor but they dont have a flat spot on the shaft and i dont know how to make one myself. but i could buy a 1515 from tekno rc which already has one

bensf 08.15.2008 01:51 PM

Just use a file or a dremel to make the flat spot. Its really easy and shouldn't stop you from getting the bigger motor.

ReV:-O 08.15.2008 02:11 PM

i dont have a dremel but i'm sure i could find a file. but how could you file it because the shaft moves (it turns)?

Arct1k 08.15.2008 02:41 PM

Two hands! Err a pair of pliers in one hand and a file in the other?

ReV:-O 08.15.2008 03:03 PM

yeah but how can you clamp the shaft? lol its so small

suicideneil 08.15.2008 03:43 PM

Clamp the tip of the shaft in a vice, then file away with a narrow flat file. Once that section is done (doesnt have to be a big flat spot going half way through the shaft), just finish up the tip by holding the flat spot with some pliers, and work away on the tip until it mathces the rest of the flat spot. Common sense and iniative really.

All the average RCer neads is:

bench and small vice
dremel or similar rotary tool
cordless drill
selection of drill bits
seletion of files- large and small
hammer and center-punch
hacksaw

Thats all I have, and I can custom fab varies things like a new chassis plate, and new motor mounts.

brushlessboy16 08.15.2008 03:59 PM

i have:
drill press
Dremel
Hack saw
Recip saw
Jigsaw
assorted drill bits and countersinks
assorted punches and files
assorted screwdrivers and hex wrenches
12ton press
welder
bench grinder
