First drive with MMM/Teckno Nue 1y

Finally got my pinion gears in today and went out on its maiden voyage, went to a grassy park a block away from my house and i have to say i am very impressed. The power is instantaineous, torque is awsome, and the MMM held up to all i put it through (high speed runs in grass and asphalt as well as a lot of hard acceleration). I have to say that pulling wheelies nearly any time i want is somethin else, and i can say that without this forumn this couldnt have happedened, and i thank you all for being so helpfull and informative.

Glad to hear it! Now, fix that sig.

shizzon 10.14.2008 12:30 AM

consider it done!

sounds great. how fast would you say the revo will run now? can you throw some pics on? would love to see it.

shizzon 10.14.2008 08:25 AM

ive got some pics of it nearly completed on one of my other threads, the only thing missing is the pinion gear. As of right now it is geared 22/58, and according to the speed calulater it is right around 45 mph, i havnt had the opportunity to play with the gearing much, but i also have the 24 tooth pinion and some other spurs.

Keep us updated about that setup :) That is the same esc/motor/battery setup I am looking to put in my Maxx

will keep you guys posted. On a side note i tried to adjust the voltage cutoff to 12.4v, so 3.1 per cell and there was no throttle, steering worked but nothing happened except as i pulled the trigger the fan increased in rpm.? So i took it back to the auto-lipo and it works fine. Any ideas on what is wrong here?? I would just like to have a little more headroom on the batts to prevent over discharging.

I have the same issue with my V1 MMM. I set it for 12.0v(pre-set) cutoff the second time and it worked fine. I read on one of the threads that with the most current firmware update the custom cuttoff works properly but with all the issues(deaths) and mine working so well, I've left it alone.

shizzon 10.14.2008 02:31 PM

so downloading the new firmware might fix this? i guess its not necessary and im just happy that its working but i would like to change the voltage cutoff. anyone have any advise?

oh, and wish me luck, 254 vector calculus exam in 30 min!!

shizzon 10.14.2008 10:04 PM

ok, heres the one pick that i got from one of my bash sessions, It landed nearly vertical on the fin, and snapped the rear fin/shocktower mount. Oh, and the front wheel popped off as the nut was pulled through the wheel. not too bad for a good 40 ft distance and probably 20 feet of vertical!!!!!!!

I NEED PARTS!

BL_RV0 10.14.2008 10:45 PM

Nice air! :)

Ryu James 10.14.2008 11:41 PM

revo looks bad. what is that little red and black gadget around your MMM that looks to be holding it down?

shizzon 10.14.2008 11:45 PM

Its my homemade mount that i built from the traxxas esc mount, piano wire and a o-ring. it is actually really sturdy, i can pick up the whole truck with batts and all by the speed control no problem....its not going anywhere!!!
