As far as i know four pole motors like higher timing, like 10%

_paralyzed_ 11.21.2008 06:38 AM

change timing from low to med. or high, but be sure to check temps closely after changes

DRIFT_BUGGY 11.21.2008 06:46 AM

I thought D-Wind motors run better on low timing. Have you tried Initial Acceleration on a lower setting?

_paralyzed_ 11.21.2008 07:03 AM

4 pole motors in general like higher timing

Blade98000 11.21.2008 07:07 AM

I will try lower initial acceleration and if the results are bad i will try higher timimg but someone told me that D prefers the lowest timimg
thx for the answers

Blade98000 11.22.2008 10:15 AM

anybody else use neu and xcelorin ?

_paralyzed_ 11.22.2008 11:15 AM

please post after you change settings, as I want to learn from you! I believe lowering accel. will make it cog worse, but I think higher timing will help, and I've never heard of the wind making a difference but I know every 4 pole setup I've seen had atleast med. timing, the schulze 18.97 comes set to high timing to match the 4 pole big maxximum

Neu says to run their D winds with the lowest timing and higher timing with the Y winds.

I guess higher timing is still worth a shot though. Try med and see where it gets you. How much cogging are you experiencing? A little bit is normal and can't really be avoided with some higher-pole motors.

Blade98000 11.25.2008 04:46 AM

ok thx
I will try to set acceleration and timing to lowest and test
then let the acceleration to low and test medium timing and test

I will update my results here

thanks for all

Sweet, let is know the outcome

Check all the connections well, a poor connection can cause cogging. I also found that poor batteries can cause it too. I have seen with my lehner motors, that low timing and low start power can cause a little cogging at low throttle. I run all my Lehners at 15 degree timing and high start power. Neus I have had no problems with timing, but start power can make a difference.
