Center diff adapter for hyper 7 (pics).
1 Attachment(s)
After seeing rchippie's buggy with the center adapter that mike had made for him. I talked Mike and he made me a center diff adapter to fit a Ofna 51t plastic spur gear to my Hyper 7. It's beautiful. It was made from a solid piece of aluminum and it fits nicely. I've got it in my buggy but, have not had a chance to run it with the new adapter yet. This is a good way to go. Here are some pixs.

On the diff.

that looks good. make me want a pretty one like that for my center diff.
|
what diff do you have? i have a 8 spyder pcr edition but it has 8 screws.
|
I have the RTR version it has 4 screws. I did't realize that the 8 spyder gear had more screws. I was thinking I could upgrade someday down the line, guess that won't work. If you need an adapter, I'm sure it could be made with more screw holes.

Looks good. How much did Mike charge for that?
|
just checked and its 6 holes instead of 8 :o

That looks great you will br pleased with it.

As far as the price goes, email Mike because I'm sure that some adapters might cost more than others. |
Old thead but do you still have that adaptor. How is it working?
I want one. Dan |
Mike does make some awesome adaptor's. He made one just like that for my 8 spyder centerdiff. For the price he charge's, you can't make one yourself at a local machine shop.

I emailed him for one hopefully he can make me one!!!

Here is another alternative.
Kyosho makes a 46t plastic spur gear part# IF148. This is a direct fit onto a Hyper 7 diff. you can also use a Kyosho diff from either a 7.5 or 777 and put it in Hyper 7 or 8. All are interchangeable. The cost for the gear from Kyosho America is $5.00:027: |
Isn't that the one that needs more space between the two holders?
