Center diff adapter for hyper 7 (pics). - 12.26.2005, 09:16 PM

After seeing rchippie's buggy with the center adapter that mike had made for him. I talked Mike and he made me a center diff adapter to fit a Ofna 51t plastic spur gear to my Hyper 7. It's beautiful. It was made from a solid piece of aluminum and it fits nicely. I've got it in my buggy but, have not had a chance to run it with the new adapter yet. This is a good way to go. Here are some pixs.

The pictures don't do it any justice.

I have the RTR version it has 4 screws. I did't realize that the 8 spyder gear had more screws. I was thinking I could upgrade someday down the line, guess that won't work. If you need an adapter, I'm sure it could be made with more screw holes.

I think so too! It is also much lighter than the steel spur.

As far as the price goes, email Mike because I'm sure that some adapters might cost more than others.

Mike does make some awesome adaptor's. He made one just like that for my 8 spyder centerdiff. For the price he charge's, you can't make one yourself at a local machine shop.

Here is another alternative.

Kyosho makes a 46t plastic spur gear part# IF148. This is a direct fit onto a Hyper 7 diff. you can also use a Kyosho diff from either a 7.5 or 777 and put it in Hyper 7 or 8. All are interchangeable. The cost for the gear from Kyosho America is $5.00:027:

Isn't that the one that needs more space between the two holders?
