Possible bl conversion on rc10gt (old chassis)

well i won an old rc10gt on ebay for $61 it was arr only need radio...or so i thought....lol the motor doesn't run and the tank had a major leak in it so i stripped it and am planning on a bl conversion lol i was wondering if the feigao
Model: FG540L 3072KVM would be a good choice for the conversion

here are the stats:
Brand New, Never Mounted, in manufacturer's box
1 Motor
UHT (Ultra-High Temperature) Neodym Magnets
Balanced Rotor
Ball Bearings
Magnet Rotor Length 30mm
Shaft: 3.2 mm x 16 mm, flat spot for seating pinion
Weight: 285 gr (10.8 oz)
Dimensions (Diam/Length): 35.8mm x 60 mm
Internal Resistance: 0.0076 Ohms
Max Amps: 77
3072 RPM/V
8 turns
Up to 50,000 RPM
Up to 16 cells

and run it with the mgm compro or something with a maxamps 2S2P 6000mah 7.4V Lipoly Pack...

Might want to run a little more voltage through that motor, I'm guessing thats its a 8L w/ 1/8th shaft or so, due to the specifications. A novak brushless would give you better speed on 6 cells, and since it's a 1/10th truck I would opt for motor with 4200-5300kv or so if you're running 6-7 cells. The lehner basic's are perfect for this application, and the feigao 380c L versions would work too. The L 540 motors are just too big, as the S would be more ideal.

oh ok cool....i guess i could up the battery count to a say 11.1 volt but i wanna keep everything on the chassis...but thanks for your imput

Re~Mix 02.01.2006 11:45 PM

Even if you up the voltage with lipo, you still want to use a 540s motor or smaller even, since the 540L motors are made for heavier and bigger viechles and won't perform very well in a rc10gt.

will the 6 or 8s be better for my conversion?

boss 302 02.02.2006 06:39 PM

an 8s would give you better runtime than th 6s

Thunderbruiser 02.02.2006 08:21 PM

cool is the 6s faster than the 8s and also is it basically 6 turns vs 8 turn?

boss 302 02.02.2006 08:34 PM

the 6s is faster but u will get better runtime with the 8s

squeeforever 02.02.2006 09:17 PM

i would look at something like the novak 4.5 or 5.5gtb.

Thunderbruiser 02.03.2006 12:15 AM

really? but i wanna run it high power though...i mean the novak is cool but i'd rather run higher end stuff...plus the novaks can't handle li-po's right? and as far as run time it's not major unless of course we're talking 25 min compared to three min then i'd opt for 8s
