Wiring 12020 ESC question

Quick question: I have the 12020 controller coming. Does this model use two wires for each motor phase? And if so, how do people stuff the pairs together in one 5.5mm connector so it's not crappy looking? I don't have the ESC yet, but if I need to get other parts, I'd like to know now.

FYI: I did a search and didn't come up with anything relevant.

Yep it does. I took and soldered one in and one outside the 3.5 plugs I used. I don't know about the 5.5 plugs.

OK, thanks. That's kinda what I figured. If one wire fits in a 3.5mm connector, maybe two can fit in a 5.5mm connector. I guess if it doesn't, I can always do what you did. Does it look OK with one of the wires soldered to the outside of the connector? Maybe I'll solder the two wires to a short (1") piece of 8GA or 10GA wire and then that to the connector. A piece of car amplifier wiring should do the trick...

Or, if you have a website and they allow direct-linking, use that. Also, many ISPs give you a little space along with your internet access. That's what I use.

3mm connectors sound small. You talking the 3.5mm. You need to change the deans or the plugs.

Sylvester 02.12.2006 10:43 AM

Yea, deans would be best.

Superemaxx89 02.12.2006 03:29 PM

but thats to the motors. That is what schulze reccommends and uses, and that is what lehner uses.

coolhandcountry 02.12.2006 07:46 PM

My lehners use the 3.5 mm and the schulze to. It is hard to modify the stuff cause it was made like that.

mmdooley has 3.5mm on his motor wires...
