Official Jammin CRT.5e Coming Soon?
Hi All,
I've been checking out the Jammin SCRT-10 lately. Glad it uses so many CRT.5 parts as I love these little trucks and its great to know parts are going to be around for a while. Looking at the manual today I saw something that gave me hope we may see an official Jammin CRT.5e release soon? Manual is here... http://ofna.com/pdf/34975-Jammin-SCRT.pdf If you look on page 4 at the plastic tree, part number 40946. Its the new battery tray, ESC and Rx mount parts. Marked with a cross, as not used for the SCRT10, is a chassis brace that suits the new ESC mount and looks about the right size for a CRT.5? What do you think??? Hope the CRT.5 evolves to electric and lives forever! Cheers |

Excellent! Just received the parts from Nitrohouse.
The parts definitely fit. Whats more those extra parts from the 40946 Batt tray moulding are actually to fit the conversion directly to an Ofna CRT.5 Extended chassis with no drilling required! Clever, BUT... it raises the whole battery by about 7mm which will adversely affect COG. I was planning on mounting the batt tray straight to the chassis as per SCRT-10. There may be JUST enough room to drill the outside holes? see pics The rear brace is indeed to fit the CRT.5. And the parts go together well for a tidy layout. Hopefully Jammin will release it with a new chassis just a bit wider. And with mud guards! Anyway, check out the pics. Parts are just sitting there for a rough fit at the moment. So I'll think we'll soon see a CRT.5e from Jammin or maybe a conversion which is great as I really love the way it handles with the OFNA extended chassis and the stock wheels. I'll keep posting pics as I get it together. (Still waiting on parts) Cheers. |

Finally got it back together. Just waiting on the MMP now!
All went together smoothly. Just bolts together. Mounted the battery tray on the chassis though. And also some Tekno mudgaurds. I'll post some details soon. Cheers. |

The Body is slightly 'toady' with the mudgaurds but overall it should work well. I won't cut the next body back so far in the front wheel arches.
Stuffed the paint up too. Was supposed to be green but was too heavy handed with the 'mist' of gold. Cheers |
That looks cool!
You also made some very nice photos! :) |
Thanks Byte!
Its amazing what a sheet of white card will do for photos :) Can't wait to get it running! Cheers  |
Awesome build!! I have some Q's:
You have a picture of that white card set-up? Which mudguards are that? I also want some for my STe! Where are you going to put the MMP? What dimensions does that tray have and would it fit a regular STe chassis? |
That Tekno motor just looks sexy in there. I too want to know about the mudguards.

Wow...that's got to be crazy expensive! The trend in my area is to pick up an SCRT10 kit and go the other way. Beside the chassis length, body & wheels, they are identical. In fact, I just moved all of my CRT.5 goodies (alum c-hubs, rear axle carrier, CVD's, shock towers, alum wheel hexes, etc.) to the SCRT10 kit and now have a bullet proof, fast and great performing SCT :)

Pic attached of the photo setup. I always use a tripod too but also works well with flash. Find a place with good window light, set white balance to 'cloudy', select a small apeture (for good depth of field), and use a 2 second self timer. Photography's another hobby of mine and the technical aspect is surprisingly simple once you get into it. Takes about 5 mins to setup. Mudgaurds are Tekno RC's. Available from their store... http://www.impaktrc.com/product_info...oducts_id=2868 or Nitrohouse have them too. Found them from people fitting them to their Hyper 9e's. Check how much your servo extends on the STe, don't know if it might hit the gaurd. worth a go I reckon. The MMP will go on the plate behind the receiver box, between the battery and motor. Bit high COG but whatever. They've done a great job with wiring with the new parts. Particularly, the servo wire is kept away from the spur nicely and the ESC wire will go directly into the back of the receiver box. It'll only be battery and motor wires exposed. I'm stumped at whether the tray will fit an STe??? Got me there! I'm lovin the Tekno too. 'mmmmm... My precious' I got it from impact rc when they had em on sale for $99 And MAS the total retail cost for parts was US$50 (think it cost $42 or something). You can see the parts and prices on them in the first pic of the thread. I had slowly accumulated the rest already for my CRT.5... and yes that was expensive when it all adds up! Check out special-rc on ebay for parts as well. He doesn't have them listed but he can get them from Hong Nor. Cheaper than Nitrohouse too (except he had the motor mount at $35 for some reason?? May have been a mistake???) Cheers! |
