MMM switch pulled off at the board
I mounted the esc in a new position so I could solder the connectors directly to the motor wires. The wires put pressure on the case pullling it upward and since I only had double sided tape holding the esc it eventually split the case open.
Being a highly intelligent individual I just closed it back up and kept going ( I didn't have all my gear to remount it). So of course it happened a couple of times before it pulled the switch wires from the board. It seems pretty straight foward to fix it but it will void the warranty if I do it. Otherwise I have to wait roughly a month if I send it to castle. I know I should have a spare for occassions like this but I was holding out for the ICE monster. So what's your opinion wait a month or void the waranty? |
I guess it depends what's more important: a month's wait or $70 (out of warranty repair cost, but only if something goes wrong during/after the repair).

Thanks for the reply BG. |
i would wait a month...I've seen your soldering....lol

wow.... i would hope most in this hobby were proficient at soldering. the are you want to solder is very small, just use a good clean tip and touch both pads at once (bridging it) and just dont run a switch. just do it fast with a hot iron. dont want to put alot of heat into the pcb. take your time and it will be fine. one less set of wires to worry about!
