Motor & Battery Combo for New Track
I just found out that there is a new off road track being put in (open in 4-6 weeks) about 20 min. from my house!! I talked to the guy designing the track and it will be 100 ft. x 200 ft. (one 200 ft. straight)with some technical areas but over all a fast track. Qualifying races will be 5-8 min. and mains could be up to 30 min. if I have to run with the nitros (and I probably will). I am looking for a motor and batteries (lipos) that will let me stay with the nitos but be as light as possible and still do a 30 min. main. I have a 1950/7 and 8000mah lipos coming but I would like to find a lighter combo if possible. What would be good tires and also what gearing?

you could get some samller mah batts for the qualifing rounds. I think you should make the 30 mins and be a fast contender as well with that set up. How many cells on the lipo are you getting.

Sorry, I forgot to put that in. They are 2 3s packs in series.

well, i think 40 series crime fighters with 23mm wheels is your best, lightest tire for a variety of terrains.

With the tires squee says i would gear about 16 51. I think that would get you in a good speed and run time with out running hot. You may want to try it first. I run the 1950 8t on mine. I would run it at 18 or 20 so with the lower turn i figure a couple down.
