suspension question

i just got a T-MAXX from a friend, it has been setting in his garage for about 2 years, so i took it off his hands..... its got a full INTEGY suspension set-up on it, shock towers, etc. but the front right a-arms dont have as much down travel as the left side does, its off by about 1/16 - 1/8 in. Now i know this doesn't seem like much, but it seems to make it turn badly in one direction.... what can i do to fix this problem? any ideas of why its like this, both sides seem identical.....

i would check to see if the shocks are mount in the same position on both sides.

Check if there aren't any bend arm's/ hinge pin's, take the shock's off and you should be able to move the whole suspension freely.

Welcome to the forum!

I doubt if this is the reason for the truck steering better into one direction than the other. I would check the possition of the knuckles in one and the other corner. Perhaps the turnbuckles are not equal in length.

For the difference in height;

You can also check the position of the piston in the rodends. (one side can be turned in deeper)

The way the drag link is hooked up makes a difference to how it steers to. The draglink I am referring to is between the servo and center linkage.

Also - take off servo horn and make sure you have enough travel - both ways - and make sure your servo is not limiting your steering - If the servo is off center - that would also keep the steering inadequate....... Report back and let us know if you found the problem. And Welcome to the forums.....

well, i figured out the problem, i did have to re-center the servo, but the problem for the ofset height what that one of the shocks had a different type of lower plastic mount that bolts to the a-arm....... fixed it, now their all even, used the little pieces off my rusty shocks......, thanks.

In these situations, patience and a close look will be your helping hand..

Good to hear it's solved.
