Benefits of locked center diff

I am researching the pros and cons of locking up my Truggy center diff. Currently, it does not deliver any drive to the rear and little drive to the front when on the ground. I am rebuilding the fronts and rears with Ti ring and pinion gears and if necessary locking the center. I was looking for a center spool type CD like in my GTP but to no avail. I need to know what is the benefit of a locked center. Will it behave like a single gear spool? Please let me know.

Equal power to F/R at all times... You will be capable of better acceleration, just watch out for the wheelies and spin-outs!

I would rebuild the center diff, fix whatever is causing the drive issues, and try some very heavy oil (50k or 100k) before locking the diff completely. If it still unloads too much for your liking then look at locking the diff.

Depending on what truggy you have you may be able to get the GTP locked spool to work with a bit of shimming.

Get some silly putty and put it in the center diff. That'll lock it and is also reversible if you don't like it. Grease doesn't cut it in 1/8 scale though, silicone fluid only.

The Mayhem (thats what your's is right?) I just built for my nephew's xmas present didn't like 10k much, still unloaded to the front alot balloning the front tires bad. Ended up mixing equal (or pretty close to equal) parts 10k and 30k and its perfect now.

With my way overpowered muggy I ened up with a nice 50/50 mixture of 50k and 100k fluid. %0k was a bit too think, and I figured 100k would be too much.
