Mamba Max does not work after update
I just updated an older Mamba Max ESC to the newest firmware today and it no longer works.
I had to update it so I could use a castle link on my 64 bit windows 7 computer. When you turn on the controller and turn on the transmitter both the red and yellow leds start flashing very fast. According to this page: http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20020 That means it is over temp which is silly because it is 72 degrees in the house and the esc is not hotter than that. It is cool to the touch. The steering servo works but the ESC will not send any power to the motor nor does it let me calibrate it to the transmitter. I tried downgrading the firmware to the next few lower versions with the same results. I also turned off the low voltage cut off but this did not help either. I am using a fully charged GP 3300 stick pack and a fully charged Neu 5000 2s Lipo. both with the same results. Does anyone have any idea what can be wrong? *Edit I also tried using a different radio/ receiver combo with no difference I also tried using a different motor with no difference |
Did you try 1.23?
|
No I started at the top and tried each one until 1.28
Is there a difference with the 1.23? |
Wow i tried 1.23 and it worked. I guess the green heatsink mamba max esc's are not able to be updated beyond that. Thanks!

Are you updating thru the built-in USB port or thru the Rx wires?
If you can, try thru the Rx wires. |
1.23 should be the first version supporting receiver cable programming for MM....you're welcome
