Set backs

Anyone use the set backs with Hybrids? Mine won't fit!!!

squeeforever 10.28.2006 04:04 PM

Yea, I have heard that you will encounter slight problems like that when mixing UE/FLM parts...

neweuser 10.28.2006 04:52 PM

I think I can shave the bulks a tad....should be fine....RC is Modding right!

squeeforever 10.28.2006 05:01 PM

Yea, you should be able to file something down to fit....Either the arm or the bulk....

neweuser 10.28.2006 05:36 PM

It's less than a mm, so i'll do the bulk, that way, if i ever change bulks to vbs, i can still use the arms.

HotnCold 10.28.2006 06:11 PM

thats thinking - good choice on shaving the bulks

Serum 10.28.2006 07:52 PM

I used mine on the FLM's. i didn't need to take off much, not a mm.

neweuser 10.28.2006 08:10 PM

Yeah, it's less than that, very minimal...jsut using a file, try it, take a little more, try it, take a little more, and walla!
Thanks walter! I thought about taking material from the arm, but then there is compromising the strength as well, so i figured, plenty there on the bulk, just shave a tad and good to go.

Serum - did it work well for you?

sjcrss 10.29.2006 12:48 PM

glad you were able to get it on.....a few more peices and your back in business

Setback rear upper arm question

Is it normal for the upper rear arm brace to be close to the diff cup? It just seems awfully close when it comes down, and it touches the diff cup. Is this normal?

squeeforever 10.29.2006 09:21 PM

Got a picture of exactly what your talking about?

sjcrss 10.29.2006 09:38 PM

No it's not normal....mine is a good 4mm or so from even coming close to touching the diff cup....

sjcrss 10.29.2006 09:40 PM

Well after looking at mine a little bit..I think you might have your camber off on the outer knuckle....you do have those on right.....if not it will hit....and you need to use the hole on the top row..I think the second one from the end of the knuckle ( the side that faces the upper arm...)

neweuser 10.29.2006 10:35 PM

Cool, i got it.
Serum, did it work well with your Hybrids?

I'm using my setbackers with the FLM Hybrids and it work flawlessly, not befor filing off some material from the arms, though.
BTW, neweuser, do you have some pics of your truck with the RacerX suspension? I would like to see it.
