...I guess this is much a good place as any...And please excuse the name...All my projects tend to get funky names :o

...A pretty basic one, nothing special...This is kind of a long term project that didnt turn out to be as 'long' as i expected...

..The GP power source is out and is being replaced with a Feigao 9L at this stage, with a Monster Max going in when it appears...

...This is it where is it is right now and I have already figured out the bits that are wrong...

...Right now the motor is flat on the deck and faces FORWARD; the center diff has been flipped...The motor plate is converted from an E-Savage...

...I need to update that and get the motor up on the rear uper deck, which is a REALLY crappy carbon right now but will be redone with either an alloy plate full of holes or I will hit up Holeshot to do me a fitted piece...

...I also want to stand the steering servo up...The front deck is the stock version cut to fit...I will cut the servo piece off and use the top deck from the throttle sevo to replace it...Hope that makes sense...

...It is spot on 4kg at the moment and i still want to fit the wing so i will strat to redo all the heavy bits once the design is set...

...Its nowhere near as technical or as blingy as many of the conversions you may have seen but it is nice and basic and a reasonably easy job :013:

Halloween Update...

...Ok so i re-did the motor mount last night...another late one

...The motor WAS facing forwards at left front but i moved the diff BACK to where it started and top-mounted the motor...That gives me the WHOLE top plate to play with and it will now take a 74mm XL can with room to spare...The top plate is still unsecured towards the center diff and needs some pillars or something...I might just do it with 2mm alloy plate and lighten that with some sexy holes

*Stock top plate is 2.5mm...

I will leave the servo for now...I just want to get the drivetrain all secured first...

...Still lots of room for batteries so that is going to plan...

...Electronics will now be placed at the front of the chassis, opposite side to the steering servo...

...Also the motor plate is only secured to the diff case at the TOP and it is leaning slightly forward so i need to get to in the bottom to straighten it a little bit...

Looking good - keep the updates coming!

...after having SO much trouble trying to get a 1/8" pinion with a Mod 1 pitch i decided to take the frankenstein route...

...Here is a sight that you may not see so often...A 66t 32p E-Savage spur on a 1/8 truggy diff :D Works great...And that means that I now have endless local access to pinions that will fit...The diff itself hasnt been modded and I can always switch back to Mod 1 when i need to...

looks good.....smart thinking with putting the savage gear on it,,,,,

squeeforever 11.05.2006 11:17 PM

Yea, the only thing I don't like is how far the pinion is off the shaft. That might cause you to break the shaft. It wouldn't be the first...Looks really good though!

BitHed 11.07.2006 04:01 AM

...The 'hanging-on-by-the-skin-of-its-teeth' pinion IS a worry...To rectify that i can move it BACK a smidgin to sit a little more on the spur and / or use a thinner motor plate; the former being really easy and the latter being lots of work but reasonably do-able...

...I just have to secure the C.R.A.P (center re-aligment plate) to the chassis in its new spot and it is BASICALLY done...

EDIT: Wow I just looked at this thread and its pretty damn naked...Time for some earth-shattering pics doncha think :D I will try and get the center diff seated and see what happens :D

BitHed 11.15.2006 09:25 PM

...well its up and running...Its not much to look at just yet and its MEGA heavy!! It weighs in at a (svelte!?) 4.2 kg...Too heavy for my liking...But once i get warlocks with BowTie MT's, carbon towers and lunsford buckles on I should be under 4 kg which is where i want to be...

haha... o well.

BitHed 11.13.2007 03:02 AM

...yeah i was a legend ahead of my time :D

...duct taped because it was a mock-up but that still didnt stop me from running it :D

...This center diff is now in one of my e-savage chassii and the front and rear bulks are still here waiting for something to happen to them...
