heat sink on rusty

hey im not really sure how this would fit but would this be able to fit onto my rusty http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...d=RCM01&cat=20 (i have the mm 5700)

im not afraid of haveing to modify things.... just afraid of breaking them beyond repair. im looking for a nice heatsink for the mm because... well... i have a tendency of making things hott and forgetting to check the temps.. dont want it burning up!

ive been looking around for some nic batteries and i dont want to spend 200 bucks on one battery so how is this lipo? http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail..._2S4000&cat=18 what can i expect the runtime to be? also how long does it take to charge these? how much more power will the 2s give me compared to a 7 cell ib3800

also can you buy like the housing of the mm esc? mine fell out of the truck and was dragged for a good amount of time... (i was inside playin some 360 while brother was driving my truck... :035:)

thanks guys!

**EDIT** what is the point of these ubecs http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail.php?prod=6vubec? does it make your esc not run as hott? or is it just like another battery for all your electronics?

thanks one AGAIN!

ubec is to bypass the esc's bec.
runs a little cooler then, the mamba max.

t-maxxracer32 01.09.2007 10:09 AM

so is it worth the 37 bucks?

jollyjumper 01.09.2007 10:16 AM

i dont think so since your on 7.4 volts.
mm's bec handles that just fine.

You can use the internal BEC of the MM up to 3S.

Mike.L 01.09.2007 04:52 PM

Yea the rcm heatsink sould work, I think you just need an S size heatsink.

Sylvester 01.09.2007 05:02 PM

Personally i wouldnt run the MM's bec on more than 2s/6 cells.

t-maxxracer32 01.09.2007 06:05 PM

ya well i plan on running 3s lipos or 3s a123 cells i still havent figured it out... too confusing!

t-maxxracer32 01.09.2007 06:06 PM

should i send an email to mike and ask if the heat sink will fit?

Mike.L 01.09.2007 06:53 PM

i dont know why a s size sink wouldnt?

Sylvester 01.09.2007 07:02 PM

What motor are you running?

If its a 540 motor can size mikes heatsink WILL fit.

t-maxxracer32 01.09.2007 07:59 PM

ya its the mm 5700 so a 540 can but my main question was will it fit the rusty. also how much cooler should it run? like -20 degrees or how does that work?

Sylvester 01.09.2007 08:05 PM

Hmm than that will be a problem ; the screws on the motor holding the rear endbell and the screws in the front wont let any heatsink sit properly to actually dissapate any heat. Why do you need a heatsink anyway? If you are running to hot than your either under or over geared.

Mike.L 01.09.2007 09:02 PM

but if your gearing is fine then yould have to ask mike for the dimensions are and see it you have that mutch clearence where you have your motor in...

Either way, Mike, a heatsink is rather useless if it isnt touching the can properlly.
