Diff riped to shreds
I want to get a strong diff, which one should I get?
I use my e-maxx on the sand, so the rear gets all of the abuse. |
You need to get yourself the FLM Hybrid bulkless and two sets of HB diffs. You find them in this store.
I assume you're using the stock diff, right? |
is it the ring and pinion? if not=> if your in sand only, i'd try a spool first.
if its the ring and pinion you'll need 1/8th diffs. |

When I opened up the diff, the 2 small gears were missing teeth, the pinion gear was fine. |
maybe you otta try running a spool, will be far cheaper then a 1/8 diff.

ok, thanks.
I'm sure it would be ok to run it with the spool on dirt, grass and pavement. What would be the draw back? |
where can you find spools at. and what are they
|
Spools are harder on the axles. Since both turn at the same speed ALWAYS when you turn one wheel has to "slip" or break traction for the vehicle to turn.
It's harder on parts. On grass or dirt.....no big deal. It will be more noticeable on pavement. Also, the rear end might "wash out" or slide easier on dirt track with the spool. @GMAXX360 A spool is essentially a solid connection between the two axles. It strengthens up and lightens up the rear axle assembly but reduces the truck handling quality somewhat. Particularly in turns. |
ok thanks
|
BTW, Traxxas sells spools for the T/E-maxx.
