32P slipper, what's a good one?
I'm fed up with this POS slipper 'thing' that is on the maxx tranny. It's so useless it's almost sad really, and the spur seems to wobble so much from it makes me want to cry.
So, what I need to know, what is a good slipper assembly that works with 32P spurs, preferably one from Mike. I've looked at them, but it doesn't really say which truck/mounting it's meant for. Thanks a bunch. |
The only options you have are: stock, RRP (not much better than stock, worse than stock if you want any slip), or the Kippster, which is like the Strobe, but uses RRP spurs. Let me know if you want a Kippster, I have one I can let go of (there VERY hard to find).

Sure, why not. :p

Really? What spur do you have with it? the 66T or the 72T?
Do they have little wobble in the spur then? I'm going to be running it with a 7XL geared for about 45 mph. |
No, they don't really wobble. If you get the MGT spring, in combination with the slipper, there should be no problem what so ever. It would be your choice of 66T, 68T, or 72T since I have 2 of one and 1 of the other. I think 2 small's and 1 big one.

Also check out BP-Revo's thread. He may have what you need.

If you don't go Kipster, none will handle more than the HV novak

well, it's just that i bought 4 pnion gears from Mike already, and they aren't cheap... maybe i'll think about whether i want to go Mod1, as there are more options for that. Which one is the best slipper (Mod1) then?

Would the best bet be a strobe slipper? Does the Revo slipper work with the maxx input shaft? EDIT: nvm, doesn't work...
|
Best mod1 slipper is the Strobe, but if you already have the 5mm 32P pinions, the Kippster is your best option aside from buying new pinions. Like I said, the Kippster is almost identical. The pads are even the same material.

okay, okay, so what are you offering the Kippster slipper for then? I think i'll just go that route then, if you think they are the same as Strobes.
Thanks Squee |
Just a side note. I hate the stock slipper too but I have managed to eliminate the wobble all together. The problem is the stock spring. I used 2 revo Belleville washers and then another flat washer that is the size of the hex. Of course you still need to tighten it right down or you'll get liquid plastic but the wobble is gone.
