Hotbodies diffs
 

Hey guys,

I have a Muggy and a Turmoil that I converted. They pretty much have the same drive train and I've been running the Kyosho plastic spurs. The thing is that I have to modify the spurs to work with my diffs. I've been doing some reading and there are a lot of references to using the hotbodies diff for the LSP. Does this work with the Kyosho spurs without modifications? Will it fit my applications?

Hotbodies cars are Kyosho clones... you can swap many parts between the cars. They didn't do much to hide the fact they just cloned a K car.

yes, kyosho spur is a perfect match to the hot bodies diffs.

does anyone have the part number for the Kyosho 44T spur?

I think the #'s are IF147 and IF148 for the 44 and 46 gears, respecitvely.

He can get both from Mike......go to search and type in Kyosho spur gear and it will bring you right to it....

I should have been more specific with my question. I'm going to be putting these into Muggy and Turmoil, which use the exact same diff setup. Will this hotbodies diff be a drop in replacement for my existing diffs, or will I have to do something to make it all work? I'm asking because if there are modifications involved, I might just stick to what I'm doing now.

for diffs it seems that who ever makes the muggy and sportwerks cars they also copied kyosho. they are the same size.

jolly, I'm surprised that you didn't know (or maybe you did). The Muggy is a Losi truck and Sportwerks is a Losi owned subsidiary.

i'm not here to argue but a muggy is made FOR losi, not BY losi.

jolly, I wasn't aware of that. Is that true of the LST also? I'm just wondering. I actually had the opportunity to get an 8ight T, but decided on the Muggy because I'm only a light racer and mostly bash. I have five vehicles and my spare parts box is getting rediculously big. The Muggy is easy to stock parts for, because duplicate parts are used throughout. It's a tough truck too.

Oh, BTW, do you know who does make the Muggy? They used a lot of parts from the LST(2) to do so and a bunch of parts are also interchangeable between the Muggy and my Turmoil.

but i do know its not losi.
aftershock, lst, lst2 and muggy aswell as some sportwerks cars are made by an outside company. they share lotsa parts.
but anyway its a nice truck, that muggy.
