calculator help.

since brian g just helped me, nvr mind

hey i was tryin to learn that, i really need to so i dont have to ask, but

i want 45 ish give or take a lil bit.... when i type in what i THINK for the crt .5 or everything i get 46mph, but then i type my info into the motor chooser and it says its to kigh of kv, which may be over heating, but it worked fine with u go to speed, so idk, can u tell me what i need for this?

5700 kv, idk on what pinion, the tock spur i for now anyways unless mike comes out with the plastic stuff, 6 cells, stock tires for now, but always the same size

so what can u do to make the motor run under 150F after like 20-25 mins of runtime AT THE MOST? while around that speed?

thx guys:018:

If you run the 4600 motor, it will should run a little cooler. But you'll only get that speed with 3s. However, you will get better run times.

And for those who may wonder the same thing: The speed calculator has a dropdown list for various motors. When you select one of these, the program also knows the recommended safe max rpm for that specific motor - when known. Example; Neu or LMT motors may have a higher max rpm than a Wanderer or Feigao motor. However, when you are using the "solver" page, and are trying to find the ideal motor KV for your setup, the program doesn't know which motor you are going to use, it just knows the KV needed. So it assumes the worst case and uses the generally agreed upon 35k rpm as the max rpm.

I hope that made sense.

well can u answer my pm i sent u?

or jus there, i asked what gearing and all that to use?

thx

BrianG 05.16.2007 12:20 AM

I thought I did answer it. Anyway, you're gonna need to know what pitch you're gonna use first. Then, I'd try a 13T or 14T to start and go from there. This assumes Mod1 pitch. So, I'd shoot for a center diff ratio of about 3.5:1 whatever pitch you use. If things get too hot, gear down a little more.

well i will try 13 then, id rather have a cooler running and more punch, then heat and top end

idk how to use the calculator, so if 13 is where i need to be on 6 cells then thats where were at, and no u didnt, or atleast i didnt get it
