540c xl rear endbell clamp.
Are you guys having issues with the endbell coming off of the 540c version of the Fiago motors? The mount i made for my conversion has support for it, but ill be upgrading to Mike's mount since it will make the buggy a whole lot cleaner looking. I did see the nice heatsink / clamps offered in the store, but didnt see one for the 540c.
Also, the Jammin CR mount does fit all OFNA buggies correct? |
The motor clamp/heatsinks are for the smooth can motors. I don't own any "C" motors and the problem you are having is the reason why. I understand that many have used JB Weld to hold the endbells on.

Taco, I have the same problem with my 2 540C 7XL motors... I just sold them, and keep the smooth can..

Hmmmm.. Ill have to get creative then. I haven't had the problem yet, but as i said, my current mount supports the endbell. It just looks horrible.. :) If i knew then what i know now, i would have went for the smooth can. Thanks for the replys guys.

You are talking about the endbell; but do you mean the back or the front of the motor (front as the side where the shaft sticks out)
mine has got an M3 screw in the end-bell that sits on the back of the motor. |
Yeah, I had a frightening moment where the set screw (like Serum said) went too far in and got lodged in-between the end-bell and the motor coils. I had to swallow hard and give it a turn and HOPE that it would not damage the coil at first, luckily it didn't, but I put some thread lock on it. I'm not really using it, I just thread the end-bell on until it's good and tight. Hasn't come loose yet.

Yeah, i was talking about the rear of the motor. I unscrewed it once to check it out, but wasnt sure how good that set screw kept it in place after repeted bashing.

That's not an issue IMO;
Turn it 1/4th turn loose, ad loctite to the M3 screw and tighten it onto the aluminum can. |
