Max Current of Neu 1515 1y

Hi,

how much current is the maximum Neu 1515 1y "wants"?

I have 3 possible controllers - 150A, 120A and 100A Maximum current ;)

Thanks :)

According to this source 180Amps ...

What Controller should be used so?

Serum 11.28.2007 02:01 PM

these 100,120 and 150 numbers make me think you want to use a BK controller?

It would depend how many volts you put it on and how heavy your vehicle is.

mabu 11.28.2007 02:03 PM

Oh Sorry ... only the 150 Amp Controller is a BK Warrior 15020.

I want to run it within a Revo on a 4s Lipo.

Serum 11.28.2007 02:16 PM

the warriors won't run a neu motor.

On 4S 100-125A should be plenty, what cells are you going to use?

mabu 11.28.2007 02:20 PM

Oh ok ... what controller should i use now? a Mamba Max?

I wanted to use Kokam H5 Cells.

You realy need a controller designed to run at least 4s. The Mamba is only speced for 3s. The best two choices available currently are the Quark Monster 125b and the higher rated MGM controllers. Both have pro's and con's. The Quark requires at least a heatsink to run cool enough in warmer climates but is fairly reliable until or unless it has thermal bonding separation issues. I don't have an MGM but they get generally good reviews and feedback on this forum and are probably the best overall choice. Hopefully the Mamba Monster Max and Tekin 1/8th scale controllers will soon be available but until then the previous mentioned controlers would be your best bet.

Fine thanks - i do not want to melt this system or blow it up ( like a friend did in a local forum :eyes: )

neweuser 11.30.2007 02:08 PM

Deans are real common. I run mine on 5s as well, never melted one yet. Not even when my old Nimh's blew.

is there also a common standard how to connect them?

Duster_360 11.30.2007 02:33 PM

The fem deans goes on the batt - too easy to short the other way. If you're asking how to connect the wires - see the package, on rear is a diagram showing which is positive/negative and which side of terminal wire should be soldered to.
