10s1p A123 Truggy video with eagletree data inserts
I finally managed to shoot a video of my truggy (Robitronic Mantis) running on a snowy surface. I synched the video footage with a playback of my eagletree logfile.

I use the following electric components: . ESC: Jazz 55/10/32 (55A cont, 65A peak) . motor: Neu 1512/2Y (1400 kv) . Batteries: 10s A123 (33V) More details and some pics of the setup can be found in this thread. I now run it without fans. Beside those crazy ballooning front tires (center diff is filled with 30000 oil) and the not so perfect damping of the rear axle i really am very happy with the actual setup and performance. Enjoy |

@pb4ugo Normally i run 9-13 minutes per charge. On this run i pushed the truggy as hard as i could and was really surprised that i used more than 20A average (which corresponds to 570 Watt average). On my preceding 60 runs my average current draw hovered between 10-15A. It really depends on how much grip you have and how hard you run it. This for example is a more typical graph of my runs. If you compare the Watt, Amp and RPM distribution of this run (nr. 38) with the above linked graph, you will see that on my video run almost 50% of the runtime the motor RPM was between 25000-45000rpm and on run 38 i drove the motor only at 25% in the same rpm range. More full speed driving costs more energy, which reduces runtime (nothing new there :smile:). |

For 1/10 of a second the highest power peak on this run was at 2,5KW. In my lighter buggy i saw power peaks up to 1.8KW with the same components and a similar top speed gearing.
The Neu 1512 is rated for 2,5KW for a short period. Guess i reached it's rated maximum. :smile: Those A123 cells do deliver about 100A max for short bursts and are only warm after a run since i only draw 10-20A average. |

The main purpose when i switched from a 12 cell Nimh setup to a 10s A123 setup was to lower overall temperatures of my electric components by reducing Amp draw. A nice byproduct was more performance. 2 months ago i moved all components in my truggy. Take a look at the videos in my signature to see the same setup performing in my truggy. |
