I used a kershawdesigns 6mm bore 32p pinion, and it has held up very well.
They are hardened steel.
he has them in mod1 but only 18t and 20t. ...

I think that they didnt make it clear enough that when using the 25t pinion you need lighter tires than stock.

I did not modify to 4mm screws.
I use the 3mm with some loctite. The only time they got loose was when I did a nosedive....
