You got man, you hit the nail on the head with that... too much air getting underneath. I know this because when I had the Rustler as a Stampede, it was ridiculously fast but air kept getting underneath it. I converted it to a full Rustler but left the height at it's highest and it was better. I lowered it and it was even better. Aerodynamics make a big difference even on a small rc car..
What do you mean "availability of the single speed"? Is there a trans I can get that I don't have to lock it into second gear? That's what I was going to do... the same mod you showed us for the Revo.

I don't doubt it's possible but I think it has to be under ideal conditions... long track, slow squeeze, etc, etc...
Like I said, I got it to 52 and had plenty of throttle left.... I just needed more room and I'm sure I could have squeezed way more out of it.
