I actually did not shim the diff at all. It seems like there is no slop at all. All you really need is the RCM motor mount, and a battery tray.
I'm using the RCM battery tray and put a few shims on the bottom of the tray before mounting them using 3 of the stock chassis holes. I just split the stock radio tray in half just for the steering servo also. - actually, everything has taken alot of abuse so far with no breakage.

What's the purpose of splitting the stock radio tray in half? I'm not getting this? Do you have any pics?
Also what kind of gears do you need for a successful conversion? Thanks
