The 540 could be partially demagnetised. And for all I know, Neu motors have very high efficiency. This may explain y you have a cooler 380 motor. MM motors are pretty average motors and so maybe it isn't fair to compare them to the Neus. If I were you, I will get a new 540 sized Neu motor and forgo the MM combo.

True. The main reason I wanted to try this out was the fact I needed the MM. The 65a Quark I had on was good, but just not as tunable as the MM. Coming from a ERBE I completely forgot that these smaller cans arent made by Neu.
