I always had the plastic ones and didn't have any troubles with them. 3.3maxx used the alu but broke them.

what spur/pinion ratio are you running? i found my mbx5t prospec a bit stiff with the kit alu braces.i handled better when i switched to the resin ones so think i might do the same with this beastie
