Went ahead and did this (easiest/fastest thing to check). Issue is so far fixed and I didn't have to modify anything.

Remains to be seen how long it lasts but I bashed pretty hard on 6S last night and had lots of on/off/brake cycles to stress the driveline and the pinion is currently in the same place it was when I started.
