Need help setting up hyper 7. - 08.17.2008, 10:04 AM

What up my high voltage peoples, I need help setting up my hyper 7. I currently run a BL e-revo and I'm not sure if that's set up right, but that's a whole other thread. This will be my second rc car/second brushless setup. I have never ran a nitro setup. My goal is to have a nitro killer at the track, since we're allowed to run against nitro. It's a small track (26.000 +/- lap times) but I'd also like to run at the big track.

Here's what I have to start with:

I ordered a 44t and 46t kyosho plastic spur gears, 12,13,14,15t mod 1 pinions. I would like to uses my MM with CCBEC, and I plan on ordering a new motor mount from rc-monster.

My questions are...

1. I have an feiago 8xl (with heat sink) motor, and this comes with a 10l. Would either of these be sufficient? I would like to run 4s.

2. I have 2 - 2s2p truerc 6400 batteries. I guess I like them, but I have nothing to compare them too. Should I order 2 more for 4s, or should I go a different direction?

3. How am I supposed to attach the batteries to the chassis? I hear the gorilla straps break, any other options?

4. I have been reading about shims. Am I going to need to order some? and what type?

5. Am I missing anything?

I guess that's all for now, I appreciate your help.
