LST2/XXL-E conversion

Hey guys i figured i'd put a build thread over here to...so here it is

I started out mocking things up with a cardboard chassis, my MMM last weekend and just picked up my Castle/Neu 1520 1Y today

Now i just need to wait for my plastic to come in to make my chassis plate and bracing out of, and also still need to order batteries from HK(probobly next month)

But this is how it's sitting now:

Austin - looking forward to seeing your build. Yes, we know there is no place to put Losi builds.....pm a mod and join the rest of us asking for a Losi Forum on here.....

How do the E-Revo tranny's hold up to the MMM power, compared to the LST tranny's? I know the E-Revo diffs are hit/miss but they're based on 10th scale, rather than 8.

I have a sheet of carbon fiber that's 3 or 4mm thick and I wouldn't mind making a chassis out of it and using the E-Revo tranny so I could run a center diff.

Thoughts?

I'm sure that the e-revo tranny should hold up to it, i haven't heard of anybody having problems in the stock e-revo BL and thats running a MMM setup

Thats another one of the reasons i did it with the e-maxx/e-revo tranny was because it will let me run a CD, that way i can try and keep it on 4 wheels on the track lol

they hold up pretty well, the lst tranny is nearly bullet proof

There probably arent many folks running a truck with the size of the LST on a Revo tranny, so I wouldn't presume to guess one way or another. The LST will weigh about 40% more than a Revo, so that adds a lot of stress and strain to the tranny. Time will tell once a few more people do it, and get a season on the truck.

UPDATE TIME!..

My Nylon plastic came today.:


Then i went on a cutting expidition and cut my top plate to shape aswell as my bottom plate:



This stuff is ALOT stronger then i thought it would be....just to see how strong it really was i stood on it(after it was installed like in the pictures above..it held my without even thinking about breaking...barely even bent....and now you may be thinking this isn't that amazing..BUT i weight 210pounds...i'm not a light kid :P

Updates

Trans holding, hows it drive ????

Trans held great but the chassis was starting to flex way to much...so I'm in the process of putting it back to the regular LST chassis..

Before i took it apart it was running awesome but jumping it was a pain because of chassis flex...it would wheelie on demand on asphalt and did pretty good on the track.

I'm low on cash right now due to Christmas and all, so it probably wont be done till early next year unfortunately...although with winter here and already over a foot of snow on the ground it doesn't matter to much anyway

Ahhh, I was thinking that plastic is strong but flexable, I'm thinking of copying the layout but will either this:

What voltage you ben running with that 1520 and trans ?

BTW, did the XXL center axles lenth reach the trans out drives OK ?

I've been running 6s in it with the 1520

And the XXL axles fit perfect where the trans is currently....they are the reason i offset the trans because they were to long to fit with the trans in the center of the truck
