Neu Energy 5000 4s balance plug to Trakpower V-Balancer -
03.25.2008, 11:10 PM
Hello all,
I am about to buy a Neu Energy 5000 4s pack and need to know which balance plug to Trakpower V-Balancer adapter I will need. I use the Trakpower balancer for my 1/10 buggy Trakpower packs and was hoping I could use it to balance the Neu 42 packs.
Thanks!

Does the balancer just have the 2 small pins, or did they give you other leads with it? if not, you will need the flightpower adapter for 2,3 and 6s and the neu-tp adapter from neu store

You will need a flightpower to neu (kokam) adapter. And most likely the flightpower adapter pack that the std v balancer is sold with, as your v balancer only came with the leads to hook to the trakpower packs. It woks great on all of my packs, and I prefer the v balancer interface to the lba balancers. The fuel gauge is cool too.

When I bought the V-Balancer, it came with a lead for the gold bricks. That lead has the two bullet connectors and a small tiny plug connector and the lead plugs directly into the balancer. I was wondering what plug that was or what model balancer this was based off of so I could get an adapter lead to use this to balance the Neu packs.
Here is the best picture I could find of it (click picture to make bigger):

If you don't mind, do you have links or can tell me where to purchase these leads? I am relieved that I can still use this balancer. I agree the interface is easy to use and the fuel gauge made me chuckle at first as I thought it was pure marketing. It actually comes in handy. I was told that 2s packs didn't get out of balance that bad, but I was surprised the first time I used the balancer on my packs (I know I should have bought right away but went on what I was told).

Here is what the other leads look like. You can enlarge the pic for a better look.

This is the 4s adapter for flightpower batteries.
http://www.flightpower.co.uk/Product...=FPVHR4S-VBALH
Now you will need an adapter to link the battery to the 4s adapter I listed above. It will have to have a male flightpower 4s plug on one end, and a female kokam 4s plug on the other end fo the battery to connect to. I do not know where to find that adapter, but either cheap battery packs.com or maxamps.com may be able to make you one. I could most likely make you the adapter, just need to find a female kokam 4s plug, and I have not found that yet.
I have a neuenergy 3s lipo and used this board with my lba charger:

If you can find an adpater for the v balancer that will got to a 6s hyperiom tap, this board could be used.

You would be better off getting this adapter
http://b2b.flightpower.co.uk/Images/...-VBALH-400.jpg
And using the adapter from neu, part number NEU-TP. With that set up on my flightpower balancer, I can balance 2s to 6s neu, maxamps, and apogee batteries with no other adapters or leads. It will also do 2,3 and 6s flightpowers without the NEU-TP adapter.

I new that there had to be an easier way, thanks bdebde. I did not know that neu had an adapter to flightpower, but it is good that they do!

It is actually a thunderpower adapter, same as flightpower though. Nice too never have to switch out connectors, as I have 3s 4s and 6s packs of different brands.

Not sure where, perhaps from the flightpower website?
