How do I set up my electronics for front mech. brakes and brakes w/ the mm esc -

Not sure how to set up mech. brakes and still use small amt. of brakes w/ the esc. I think that I need to use ch. 3 on my receiver for the mech. brake servo and then do I split the esc lead with the brake servo?
Not sure..any help will be appreciated. thanks!!!
