Cool Hitman E-savy... - 06.25.2008, 09:53 AM

Hey guys,

I'm new to the site, but not to R/C. I've heard great things about this site and wanted to be a part of it.

This is my E-Savage running:

GCMachine RoadBoy BL chassis
SuperGlide ball-bearing steering setup
HPI Hellfire wing and mount
HPI E-Firestorm CF shock towers (doubled up)
Proline 40 Series Wabash rims (painted black with Krylon Fusion)
Proline 40 Series RoadRage tires
All bearing has been cleaned and lubed with synthetic oil... Smooth
Diffs all shimmed and tight
JConcepts Revo 3.3 HD Illuzion body
RPM E-Savage bumper mounts w/ RPM Revo black bumpers

Hope you like it.

Trying to decide on what motor setup to run. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Can anyone tell me if running two 13X3 and 8 cells... will get this beast going at a decent rate?

do you have a budget? if you can afford $250 I would go with a Neu..with a Savage you could go with a 1515 can the windings depending on the voltage you will be using...some have used a 1521 but I would stay away from that unless you are prepared to invest in drivetrain upgrades especially diffs

Serum,

I picked the Proline combo b/c that's what I had... I like the Phaltline setup but used what I already had... might try them sometime.

azjc,

As far as budget goes... if I'm going to spend around $250, I'd like to get a motor and speedo to run it for that price... thanks for the suggestion, I'll keep it in mind.

TruckBasher,

Thanks for the comments.

How about the 1515 1y on 5s with a MMM? Might be out of budget, but it would scream. (A screaming savage)

I'd recommend a Feigao 10XL on 5s lipo with the MMM, for a fast 40-45mph setup. That motor and speed control would only cost you $260-280.

Yes...and Castle products are the way to go as far as trouble free use and they have the best operating SW...they have had issues with the MMM mostly due to a new release and they are working hard to correct the problems

Question 06.25.2008, 04:02 PM

Gotcha... for the life of me I could not figure SW out... sorry for the display of stupidity...

Since the MMM is on back order... what's your input on running the brushed motor setup in my first post...?

Brushed motors... I had some of those once.... :)

I'd be inclined to say a pair of 550 sized motors rather than 540s, otherwise you are looking at very high temps trying to push a ~10lb truck. I wont say titans though, but instead maybe something from Kershawdesigns, like the 650 or 700HO motors, he also sells suitable motor mounts for the larger diameter 700H0 motors, nice guy to deal with apparently (Like RC-Monster... but in a shed).
