open motor an check rotor for magnetism

You can't expect much more from a 6xl though... those things will run hot as hell... Why isn't the 1515/1y enough Kv for you? You can easily reach 45mph on 4s with it...

Yes it can! I run a 1515 1y on 4s in a jammin crt and it radared at 46mph. I have it on video too... I cant really see why you would want more. Maybe for bashing...

im geared 20/68 and ive got a run time of 15min max at 34mph(calculed with r/c calculation)with a pair of 5000mah 25c neuenergy...if i go up like 22/68 i could get more speed but the courant draw is more significant....no???

If you gear a 1515 1y on 4s for the same speed as a 6xl on 4s, then the neu should have a bit more runtime and less heat.

you have a 1515/1 and a MMM I would go up to a 5s pack and if that is not enough you could go to 6s...you can wire a 3s pack that is idenical to one of your 2s packs in series to form a 5s pack..."You need more power"...when you go higher kv the motor becomes more amp hungry and that will cause heat

just make sure it is the same capacity, and I would go with the same brand since your chances that they would be the same cells would be better

I think 4s will be plenty for a 1.5d but it will eat more amps causing more heat, be sure your timing for the ESC is at the lowest setting, and I went back looking at your first post and it looks like the truck you have is an E Revo if it is the biggest 8000 size you could fit in the compartment would be a 2s
