What motor, batteries, and how fast do you need to go?

13t is enough for most tracks.

Depending on what kind of speed you want, you could actually get away with going to the Kyosho 46T spur and not changing your diff pinions. A 10:46 with 13:43 diffs is almost identical to a 13:46 with 10:43 diffs. However, changing to 10:43 diffs will allow for more gearing options. Personally, I run the stock 13:43 diffs and the stock 62T spur. There really isn't a real good reason to change it from the 62T IMO.

Would I notice any gain in room for my v3 battery tray??? I measured and I might have just enough now to mount it the way I want, but have to ask anyway...

Where did you buy the battery from? Is it tekno's or RCM? ANyway, you should have enough room to mount it on the left side.

That should fit without any problems. Don't forget to post some pics of your conversion.

heck I have a 6s 5000mah with the stock 62t spur. haha, its VERY tight but it works. I would start with a 14t or maybe a 13t if you would like to keep temps down but really it shouldnt be a problem with a 14t.

4s with the 2200k/v is about the same as 5s on my 1700k/v and I ran 13t on 5s for a long time and was happy with it.

yea i didnt like the 62t spur myself, it was ungodly loud, not to mention it was only a couple mm's from the wires, i put a 48t losi spur on there with a 10t pinion, for the 1y and the 62t use a 13t pinion
