What is your favorite upgrade for crt.5 -
04.07.2009, 09:53 PM
Well i was wondering what is the single best upgrade you guys can think of.
As i have some extra cash laying around to do something to my crt.5.
I do have rc8 front shocks coming in for the rear of the car.
What else do you guys suggest.
I was thinking of the titanium turnbuckles or something.
Or the cnc knuckles or rear uprights.
I keep breaking the factory plastic shock caps where the mount is.
And rear lower arms. Dont think i am ready for the aluiminum conversion just yet.

It is an extended chassis with RCBros conversion with a 2s SS Maxamps 4200 battery...
Get the medusa 50mm as the 5700 won't last long... You'll be fine...

Drive it! When the tires are busted look at some 2.2 truck or proline 30's...
I just upgraded all the turnbuckles to titanium - cost only 20 or so...

The only real upgrade I did was the cnc chassis braces. I actually bent the chassis once hard enough that it bent the plastic brace and the rear driveshaft.
The BB shocks are a must tho for so many reasons.

The proline gladiator 2.2 truck tires are a good choice for the crt .5. The m2 compound is harder... Plan on gearing down a couple teeth due to the larger diameter. But with the addition of the medusa motor, you may not have to gear down any more.

IMO, a Medusa 36-50-3300 and 3s lipo would be the best upgrade. Then, just upgrade the parts that break or under lots of stress.
