Help please with Hyperion 606i - 07.06.2009, 05:48 AM

Hi All,
o
Just soldered the connectors onto my Neu Energy 5s 6500mah Lipo and connected to my Hyperion 606i thinking "great I can charge this battery in a little over an hour"

The battery however even though set to charge @ 6amps, is only charging at 2.5A. Reading the manual the charger can onyl do 50W output max.

Do I figure out the max charge amps for a 5S do I equate as follows:

50/18.5 = 2.7amps

What charger will charge this a battery in an hour??

thanks again everyone :)

The 610i NET or DUO, 720i, etc. should all do it in around 100 minutes. You'll need at least a 150 watt charger to charge that lipo at a full 6 amps. Keep in mind that it only charges at 6 amps for most of the charge then kicks over to constant voltage charging (as opposed to constant amperage) to "peak" the pack. I don't know if the newer Hyperions are programmable to only do the CC charge for faster charging but if you are in a rush to run your car you can pull it off the charger once the amperage really starts dropping.

All I ever wanted was an honest weeks pay for an honest days work.
