Hard to find bearing size. - 06.12.2011, 01:11 AM

I'm looking for a bearing that measures 8x17x6mm. (17mm diameter, 8mm hole, 6mm thick) I can't seem to find one anywhere. I've looked at ebay, avid, bocca, and acer. I need four for a project on my e-revo.

Any suggestions?

Edit, I was able to find my desired size on google, but they are $25 a pop............

You could use a shim (aluminum foil) around an 8x16x6 bearing which is more common.

Edit: 8x19x6 is also common...

Good idea, but these will be the outer wheel bearings in the revo knuckles. Not sure if I want to go that route. Now why did Hot Racing have to go and use a 17mm bearing.

So they could charge you $25 for it.

Wait...which HR knuckles? The only ones I see on their site use the 6x13x5 bearings...

I'm not sure the style I have is made anymore...can't seem to find them anywhere.

The knuckles I have use 6x17x6 bearings. I'm wanting to use Losi XXL driveshafts. That's why I need the 8mm bore. I wouldn't mind using a 8x16x6 bearing, I just wouldn't want to shim it with aluminum foil. Is there a better shim option out there? I'm not sure if a metal sleeve that is .5mm thick and 17mm in diameter exists?

Pardon my ignorance, but do mean like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Mirror-Polished-...item23114842ca

I couldn't find anything under 24 awg sheet.

Yeah, it seems using "24 AWG sheet" as a search term doesn't turn up anything useful...

I'm not sure where you're located, but if you're in the USA I'd go here:

http://www.onlinemetals.com/merchant...=76&top_cat=60

Or, if you would prefer stainless, that item you linked to will work fine. It will be harder to form, though.
