Eagle Tree MicroPower... -

Hey, just wondering if this would work good with my emaxx truggy, running 5s2p A123's, 7XL, and Quark 125. I notice it only has 100 amps max. Wouldn't this setup burst at more than 100 amps?
Any info and experience appreciated

Yeah, mine showed bursts of 130-150A

So they CAN record higher than 100 amps? Can you elaborate a little?

Hi zeropointbug,
This is something I made a few months ago. I believe my buggy was running a 4S pack with an MGM compro & 7XL motor in a buggy chassis. Form the pic, it showed a peak current of 114.5A.

Joe Ling

It isn't able to handle more than 100amps continuously, but it will handle peaks of over 100amps for sure.

oh, ICIC.
Great, thanks Joeling. I was thinking of getting the temp sensor too, would you recommend the wrap around one, or the micro temp probe?

so that rpm sensor, do you just have to tap 2 of the motor wires?

For the motor the wrap around one is easy to install. For the ESC, the probe is easier I have found.
I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

I think i just want to use it for battery temp
I want to log the performance of the A123's in real world, and compare, also when i can get a hold of the Altair Nanosafe cells.

Get a set of decent lipo's too, you'll see they push out more than the 123's

You can't compare LiPo's to A123's in a voltage stand point (if that's what you mean?)... A123's are a 3.3 volt, it's simply a different battery. But yes, a good LiPo's do put out more relative to their voltage, little voltage droop. I like that, but i still would rather have A123's, safety, charging time, and durability just win out if you ask me. The Altair, i hope are much better in voltage performance. They are also 2.3v, so that will make for more options as far as configurations...

But how much will they drop on a 150A burst.
