How big is the difference ?. - 03.09.2007, 08:33 PM

Im buying a LMT 1940 8t motor from mike to use in my mbx 5 buggy. I was using a 7XL. How big is the performance difference between the LMT 1940 8t & a 7XL, also what is the phyiscal size difference ?.

You can feel the quality difference in your hand ; it will run cooler and will have more power. The 1940's are comparable to size with the XL's ~ the 1950's are a bit longer than the XL's.

The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL

The performance is amazing. You'd think you would notice a ton of a difference, but you only notice enough to make you happy, which, imo isnt bad.. No matter how low i gear my lehner, it never gets above warm, even on a hot day.. You will have NO problems whatsoever with it. The whole motor is screwed, not clamped.

I'm not positive about the attachment of the Lehner end bell.

The length of the XL is only 2mm shorter than the 1950
The length of the 1490 is 6mm shorter than the XL

I believe the Lehners are around 90% efficient where the XL's are around 80% efficiency

Very cool :017:

Im pleased to hear that the motor is screwed together & no clamp is needed. What do you consider a hot day in canada :005: .? A hot day in florida is 90 + If i could get my system to run cool even in that weather it will be even cooler in the spring & fall.
