is it safe to make a 4 way adapter on a mrc 989 to charge 4 6 cell batteries that isnt going over the limit but will it charge the first pack more then the others

only recommended if the cells are used in series, same capacity, and balanced.

what is a good balancer for six cell batteries for around 70 bucks

Im charging two 8 cell packs with mine and I'm having no problems.

but you are using the cells in the same configuration as you charge them, correct?
