rc18t is overheating. gearing? - 08.15.2008, 05:47 PM

hey guys i got my 18t running a couple days ago and it runs great. have not had a problem with the diffs or anything yet.

only thing is that it overheats quite nicely after only 5 min of runtime. motor 120 esc 125-130 batt 110. i know these temps are ok but after only 5 min...? does not seem right.
my gearing is 56/16 using a lehner 1020 and a quark 33 alonggg with a 2s MA lipo. im running it in my room with maybe half throttle the whole time. the truck does have sedan tires on it so im guessing that is not helping? it rolls pretty smoothly so i know there is no binding.

im going to play with the gearing a little right now to see if that helps but can anyone else throw some ideas out there?

thanks!
