tekno BRsh kit for 8ight 2.0 - 11.10.2009, 10:27 AM

Ok, really like the tekno kit for my conversion, but just would like to get a little more feedback from others. I like it because it comes with a machined frame which would replace my cheaper RTR stamped unit. Also, the ability to adjust brakes and use the direct drive or electra-cltch. My main concern is that I have heard I might need a better controler for some reason. I have the dx3s, also does the reciever fit in the box the supply. Any opinions or feedback would be greatly apprecited.

Yeah, the DX3S doesn't do throttle/brake mixing on the 3rd channel. It only does steering mixing. Try the DX3R, M11, or 3PK/4PK radios if you want to do full mixing. The other alternative is to run a Y-splitter for the brake servo, which many do.

The RX is not meant to fit in the radio tray, it goes on top next to the ESC. Some have been able to fit super tiny micro RX's in there, but any time you need access to the wires (like when programming your ESC) it's easier if it's on top. Hope this helps. Thanks.

ok, may sound like a ding dong, but can one emphasize on brake mixing, because with my dx3s, I can change the th trim to the brake trim and controll how much it goes each way.. Isn't that kinda what I need? Also, so the radio reciever is exposed to the elements with the tekno kit? What options do I have to get it enclosed. I seen a pic of a guys setup with the esc behind the battery tray and in front of the tray was a box which looked like a antenna came out of. Any pics or reference threads with the kits would be sweet. I've been digging for several weeks and it seems like not to many people like sharing info. Kinda crazy. Been racing mx for 20 yrs and it seems rc guys are way more serious!!

Anybody have any other info to add, I really want to get this conversion underway, I really don't want to purchase 2-3 conv kits to find out the differences. It seems nobody wants to give info on any of the forums. If it weren't for NOOBS the sport wouldn't grow.

Brake mixing: ESC plugged into throttle channel, brake servo plugged into aux channel. You use mixing in the radio so both channels operate from throttle input (trigger).

get busy with your conversion and run the clutch, being able to set your braking bias is a great feature you will lose if you go direct drive.
As for your controller keep it and use a y connector, if you like it and want to neaten up your set up (and make it more tuneable) then upgrade your radio
Enjoy these are great kits

a lil dirty.. The rx is just on the side of the ESC, I used the nitro fuel guard to make a small stop to keep crap from blowing up in and getting on the ESC and rx. Worked very well just screwed it into the tekno mount. I also hacked off about 1/4" of height w/ my dremel on that platform tekno sent that the ESC sits on.

Another way to do it if you have a small ESC or the room is how I did my 8ight-t

Who can help me in finding a place where I can get a rev counter for my old M900 from 1994?
Thanks.

What is a rev counter exactly? Actually I don't know what a M900 is either. Sorry.

I guessing it is an RPM sensor for a telemetry system? Is that what the M900 is?
